Busking With Scape Sg

Street performance with Scape in Oct 2019 was super fun! It was an initiative by Scape Sg to organise busking for musicians in Singapore. I jumped into it without much thought even though my guitar skills is still basic. I only learnt guitar for 3 months, but this busking opportunity motivated me to practise my guitar for hours every day. What started off as a training ground to improve my guitar skills and my live performance with my friend, Thomas who is also very passionate about singing has turned into a real joy. I must say street performance can be very frightening. However, I realised by wearing my shades I was in my own world. There are so many memorable times and I love to see how music can bring joy to the passers-by. One magical moment is when strangers dance with us during our performance during the Christmas period in 2019. With the pandemic that is going on, I doubt there will ever be any chance to experience street performance.

This is a stressful one as I had to do a 2 hour online gig, it felt like a mini concert. Besides the sound technical issues and the lack of preparation. I can't help but regret that I could have done it better if there was more time to prepare. Nevertheless, it helps me to gain experience doing an online performance. I admire my own courage to complete this mission. In a way, I would like to prove to myself that there's nothing one cannot accomplish it is all in the mind.
