Illusion is one of my most anticipated song that I composed during circuit breaker in April 2020. It is inspired by the influence of social media in our lives. I love it so much that I decided to make it into a CD album together with my other original songs as an artefact or a memento. Email me if you want a copy of it with my signature.
illusion is a song I knew right from the start that it is going to be really unique. However, the making was not an easy one. In many ways, Covid-19 has turned our lives upside down and this new social norm is rather phenomena. Due to the 2 months of stay home, I became quite free to create music. Music at that time serves a different purpose more of a reflection of social realities and a record of the history of mankind experiences in this modern world. What is ironic is that many artistic works and music seems to flourish during this period. It's silver lining! This period of time, I also get to know many musicians overseas and found out that there are netizens who like my music. I guess the stay home period has changed us in many ways and to do things differently.
This song was supposed to be an overseas collaboration online in a rap version but somehow it didn't work out that way. I thought it might not even be produced at some point due to the disruption of our lives because of Covid-19. Somehow things work out in the most mysterious way, as soon as life resumed a little more normal, this song is finally completed with the help of my amazing musician friends who helped to make this illusion of mine turns into a reality.
Thank you to Shannon for your always amazing guitar sound and harmonizing in this song and also to Dickson for being so patient with me and always has been such an excellent music producer.
